Haridwar police nabbed a 25-year-old man who was involved in several incidents of purse snatching especially in central Haridwar. Police have recovered several mobile phones and jewellery items from him. The accused has been identified as Shivpuri resident Ayush Rana who worked in a shop for installation of CCTV cameras. According to the police he especially targeted women who went for shopping in evening.
SP City Mamta Vohra said, “He had repeatedly snatched purses and mobile phones from women in city area. We did not find any clue from the victims as he knew all the escape routes. However, he was caught in the CCTV footage. We recovered mobile phones and jewelry worth Rs 3,00,000 from his possession.”
