Continuing the Congress campaign against the Central Government on the issue of the Rafale fighter jet deal, the party’s national spokesman Manish Tewari said that the alleged scam in the deal should be probed by a joint parliamentary committee. He said this while addressing the media at the Congress Bhawan here on Thursday.
Tewari reiterated the allegations being levelled by the Congress for some time now against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA Government at the Centre, accusing it of orchestrating a scam in the Rafale fighter jet deal. Stressing that the alleged scam in this fighter jet deal should be investigated by a joint parliamentary committee, the Congress national spokesman said that the party will initiate a national level agitation if this is not done. The Central Government should not hestitate to get the allegations probed by a joint parliamentary committee if there are no anomalies in the deal, as the BJP claims, added Tewari. The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Pritam Singh, leader of opposition in the Vidhan Sabha, Indira Hridayesh, former PCC president Kishore Upadhyay and other party leaders were also among those present in the Press conference.
