Ahead of the Monsoon Session of the State Assembly starting from Monday (July 2), the Congress legislative party is going to meet on Sunday here for drawing up strategies for cornering the ruling party on a wide set of issues.
The session with five sittings which will conclude on July 6 would also be the last before the Assembly polls slated in the State later this year.
The session is expected to be stormy as the Congress Opposition is gearing up for an intense poll battle ahead.
leader of Opposition T.S. Singhdeo told The Pioneer that the party is well prepared on a host of issues related to public interest to be raised during the Assembly session.
“The issues which are to be raised by the Opposition Congress members would be farmers facing problem of seeds and fertilizers in the state ahead of upcoming Kharif season, health hazard in Supebeda where people are suffering from Kidney ailment, agitation of family members of police personal and other issues”, he informed
Keeping in view the short period of the monsoon session, the Opposition Congress is also well prepared to corner the Government on key issues related to public interest and will raise the voice of citizens in the House with complete determination, he said.
The session will have the Government tabling various bills including an amendment bill and several resolutions.
The first supplementary budget for year 2018-19 would be tabled on July 3 and discussions on it would be done in House on July 4.
