Cong resorting to dirty politics: lunawat

Thursday, 31 May 2018 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice-president Vijesh lunawat has alleged that the Congress is resorting to dirty politics in order to mislead people.

While talking to ‘The Pioneer’, lunawat said development carried out by the BJP regime from 2003 to 2018 and 'bantadhar (ruination)' during the erstwhile Digvijaya Singh-led Congress rule from 1993 to 2003 would be the party's major poll planks in the coming assembly elections.

"In 2003, the BJP routed the Congress and stormed to power. Since its ascent, the party had carried out development in a planned manner resulting in public mandate in its favour in 2008 and 2013," he said.

Claiming that development has been the sole driving force in the past 15 years, lunawat said that the state had been languishing behind in roads, irrigation and water sectors earlier but the BJP regime made them available to public.

In a stinging attack on the Congress through a social media post, he said that Madhya Pradesh is scorching under 42-48 degrees Celsius. Power must be snapped for 15-20 hours for just a day in order to remind people of the 'Diggy rule’. lunawat said that the condition of power sector had been the most pathetic during the Digvijay Singh dispensation. He alleged that Energy Department contracts had been awarded to people associated with senior Congress leader and present state Congress chief Kamal Nath at that juncture.

"Public suffered due to shortage of power. Children used to study under lanterns. Power used to snap during surgery in operation theater. In contrast, power is available not only in towns and cities but also in rural areas as a result," he said.

The BJP leader said that the Congress was aiming at winning elections through management rather than through development. The Congress is being led by Singh and Nath during coming elections and the leader duo are trying to mislead public.
