On the instructions of Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Chhindwara Collector Srinivas Sharma detailed about the development schemes for Chhindwara district, here in the presence of the Chief Minister.
Chhindwara Collector Srinivas Sharma gave information about the proposed development and public welfare works approved for the district during the public meeting. He also told about the cost of work and the time limit for its completion. It was informed that an Agriculture College will be opened in the district.
Krishi Upaj Mandi will be started in Junnardev, Tamia, Harrai and Bichhua. Drinking water will be supplied regularly in the urban area of Chhindwara city from March 1st every day. The 8.10-km long road from indira Tiraha to Gangiwada in Chhindwara city will be widened at a cost of Rs 22 crores. In the urban area of Chhindwara, one thousand 223 beneficiaries of the Chief Minister's Ashray Yojana will be provided residential pattas within one month. Job-oriented-training will be provided to one thousand 100 youths of the district through the Forest Department. A regional office building and laboratory of Pollution Control Board will be constructed in Chhindwara.
The Collector said that investment of nearly Rs 1426 crore will be made in the district for drinking water arrangement under Public Health Engineering Department. Water will made available through tap connections in every house in all villages after group drinking water scheme is implemented in the coming 30 months at a cost of Rs 1017 crore in 711 villages of the district through Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam.
This will benefit villagers of 153 villages in Mohkhed block, 107 villages of Chhindwara, 131 of Parasia, 180 of Chaurai, 70 of Bichhua, 63 of Amarwada and 7 villages of Jamai. A group drinking water scheme of 288 villages will be created at a cost of Rs 369 crores from the Mohgaon dam water through the Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam. This will benefit villagers of 159 villages of Pandhurna and 129 villages of Saunsar.
The work of revival / strengthening of two new hand pumps and existing tap water schemes will be completed in the next 3 months at a cost of Rs 20 lakhs at Shikarpur village. A drinking water scheme will be prepared at Bisapur Kala village of Mohkhed block in the district under MP Adarsh Gram Yojana at a cost of Rs 2 crore. Pure and clean drinking water will be made available in every village of the district after setting up 500 new handpumps in the coming 3 months as per demand in Chhindwara district.
While new drinking water sources will be generated, 150 schemes out of 990 tap water schemes set up in the villages of the district and in need of repair will be repaired in 3 months. The Penchveli group drinking water scheme running in 3 urban bodies Parasia, Chandameta and Badkahi and 5 villages of Bhajipani, Bhamodi, Jatachapar, Iklahara and Ambada of the district will be upgraded with an investment of Rs 22 crores. In addition, 7 new villages of Najarpur, Jamkunda, Sukri, Datla, Dungaria, Panara and Palachourai will also be added to the scheme.
