CM assures to act on domicile policy, JPSC, JSSC issues

Wednesday, 31 January 2018 | Santosh Narayan | Ranchi

Chief Minister Raghubar Das has dropped sufficient hints for a relook on the domicile policy applicable in11 districts differently than the rest of the State. He in order to take steam of out the Opposition’s camp also assured that corrective steps would be taken in the exams conducted by JPSC and JSSC in recent times.

The statement came during his concluding speech in the House and after as many as 24 members from his own party BJP wrote to Speaker Dinesh Oraon demanding a direction from him to the Government for taking appropriate action on the sensitive issue.

“This Government is a sensible one and ready to listen. We would take an appropriate decision on reservation in 11 districts and also on JPSC and JSSC results,” said Das in his response on the Budget. Districts such as Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra etc were kept out of the conditions put for others where grade III and IV posts have been set aside entirely for the locals. Earlier mainly Opposition parties were vocally demanding to recall the decision, including cancellation of preliminary exams by the Commissions for not following the set reservation rules.

Furthermore the CM lamented over premature end of the Budget Session and rapped the Opposition parties calling them anti-development. “I wanted to listen to fair criticism coming from the Opposition on the Budget but they have lost this opportunity. Now this is my turn. We have taken the State out of shortcomings and have set some long term goals for the State. But you want the State to draw backward and are playing hindrance into development cause,” said the CM amid consistent chaos.

He also charged the Opposition for ‘hit and run’ and referred them as a lot which is unable to digest growth of the State besides terming their attitude, “not new and irresponsible. We have drawn a longer line during these three years which is making them frustrated,” said the CM.

Notably the indifferent attitude from the Opposition forced to conclude the 15-day long session just after eight days and that also without any substantial debate barring the Appropriation Bill required to get budgeted amount of Rs 80,200 crore for the financial year 2018-19 being passed.

Out of total 1058 questions came in the House, only two short notice questions could be put up by the members without any proper reply. The sine die is second in continuation for the Budget session which was 12 session. Notably official figure of the Assembly suggest that since the 6th session till now 49 sittings of the House have taken place with designated 156 hours but only 60 hours have been utilised.

“We are heading towards an unprecedented anarchic situation.

This is for everyone here to self-assess in the larger interest of the people. I fear that this situation would possibly generate disappointment among the people like we have seen increasing trend of the voters going for NOTA option,” said the visibly upset Speaker.

leader of Opposition Hemant Soren also went on expressing his grief over cutting short the Session but blamed the stubborn attitude of the Government. “We wanted the Government to answer on some important issues but the Government found out a better way to get rid of all these. This was well planned. The CM has over powered the House and even his Ministers and MlAs are not with him,” said Soren indicating to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Saryu Roy’s absence from the House for entire day on Tuesday.
