Urging people and saints not to lose patience over Supreme Court’s decision on hearing of the Ram Janmabhoomi issue, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that people should use patience as weapon to tide over ‘times of crisis’.
“It would have been better had the apex court started the hearing on this vexed issue at the earliest as delay in justice sometimes can give rise to resentment,” Yogi told to a select group of reporters in Lucknow on Tuesday.
“Justice delivered timely is considered to be the best justice. Delay in justice sometimes amounts to injustice,” he added.
This is the first time that the Chief Minister has given his reaction after the Supreme Court decided to hear the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case not before January next year.
“Ayodhya issue is a matter of faith. It would have been better had the court given its judgement. But now it seems that the judgement would be delayed. Now, an alternative way could be considered,” he suggested.
When asked if the Centre would come out with an ordinance, Yogi said that it was better that the court gave its ruling on the issue or the dispute was resolved amicably through dialogue rather than a political solution.
“I am sure the people concerned must be giving a thought to this issue (construction of Ram temple by bringing an ordinance). I am heading a constitutional post and hence there is no way I can help out,” Yogi said, adding that maintaining law and order was his government’s responsibility and it would ensure that peace prevailed at any cost.
