With a view to curbing corruption and bringing transparency in the Revenue Department, the State Government has made issuing of cadastral map along with patta (legal document for land ownership) ‘mandatory’ at tehsils from September 1.
Disciplinary action would be taken against the revenue officials if found violating the directive, a source in the department said.
As per a directive by the department, handwritten work to prepare land documents at tehsils would be completely banned from August 31. Action would be taken against the concerned officials in rank of Sub-Collector or Additional Collector for neglect in monitoring the instructions made in tehsils.
The directive was issued by Revenue & Disaster Management Secretary Chandrasekhar Kumar to all Additional Collectors, Sub-Collectors, Tehsildars and Additional Tehsildars through a videoconferencing programme on Wednesday for usage of cadastral map.
The Collectors have also been informed for implementation of the directive at the tehsils.
Sources in the department said the cadastral map would be provided along with the land patta to the land owner at the tehsils.
Besides, it is mandatory to do the land-related works including land conversion, partition, encroachment and lease on the Revenue Court Case Monitoring System (RCCMS). Under the system, the data related to the numbers of disposal of revenue cases and pending cases would be uploaded on the official website of the department on a daily basis.
The website would be opened for the public to know details of work progress at the tehsil office.
