Bill on abolishment of 5 British era laws passed

Three separate Bills were passed unanimously in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Tuesday.

The Bills include Private Universities Establishment and Conduct Amendment Bill, Chhattisgarh Advocate Welfare Fund Amendment Bill and  Bill for abolishment of five laws enforced during the British Raj.

The Bill regarding Private University cleared the provisions for establishment of AAFT University of Media and Arts in Math Kharora, Shree Rawatpura Sarkar University, Dhaneli and Maharshi University of Management and Technology, Mangala, Bilaspur.

The House also passed the  Bill on abolishment of enforcement of some British era laws in the State.

These include Chota Nagpur Estate Act, 1876, Central Provinces Tenant Act, 1898, Central Provinces land Revenue Act, Central Provinces Pratipalya Court Act, 1899 and Central Provinces Finance Commissioner Act, 1908.
