A scooter-borne girl miscreant snatched gold chain of a 45-year-old woman at Tagore Nagar under Awadhpuri police station area on Sunday.
According to the police, Sharda Thakur along with her daughter Sonam was on her way to meet her sister-in-law in the same society when she was targeted by three scooter borne miscreants and was robbed of gold chain by pillion girl.
The victim lodged a complaint with the Awadhpuri police and claimed that she was on her way to meet her sister-in-law in the same society and when she left the house three scooter borne miscreants two young boys and a girl attacked her and girl who was sitting last snatched gold chain she was wearing and escaped the spot.
Police said that the victim claimed that the gold chain was worth Rs 35,000. The CCTV footage of the three miscreants has been found in a nearby installed CCTV camera but it is not clear enough to establish identity of the miscreants and track the wheeler registration number.
Police claimed that the victim escaped the incident without injuries. The incident took place at around 4 pm. The victims raised alarm for help but all in vain as the miscreants escaped.
The victim claimed that the pillion rider snatched the gold chain, while the two men were in the around 20-25 years but victim and her daughter failed to notice miscreants and registration number. The police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
