Among a host of Public and Private Sector companies in the country, employees of Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEl) have once again bagged the prestigious Prime Minister’s Shram Awards for their distinguished performance (2011 to 2016).
As many as 42 employees of BHEl, from its units located at Trichy, Haridwar, Bengaluru (Electronics Division and Electro-Porcelains Division), Hyderabad and Bhopal, shared 27 Shram awards including 4 Shram Bhushan, 10 ShramVir/Veerangana and 13 Shram Shree/Devi awards for the years 2011-2016.
The awards were presented by the Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu at a function held in New Delhi.
Instituted in 1985 by the Ministry of labour, Government of India, the Shram Awards carry a cash prize and a Sanad.
Total 126 BHEl employees have won these prestigious awards, since inception, reflecting the continued excellence in BHEl’s work culture and the technical acumen of its workers.
Shram awards are given in recognition of outstanding contributions made by workmen both in the public as well as private sector and who have a distinguished record of performance, devotion to duty of a high order, specific contribution in the field of productivity and proven innovative abilities.
