S. Bhartidasan, an IAS officer of 2006 batch, has been appointed as the Additional Chief Electoral Officer of the State.
Earlier, the Election Commission of India (ECI) had demanded a panel of three names from which they approved the name of Bhartidasan.
Following ECI directives, the State government on Monday appointed him to the post.
Bhartidasan will assist the Chief Electoral Officer Subrat Sahoo in work for the upcoming assembly polls this year.
Bhartidasan was till now serving as Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department in the State government with additional charge as Managing Director, Civil Supplies Corporation.
