More than 500 persons of five different villages were on Wednesday booked under the charges of attempt to murder in the incident of attack on police officials at Gobindapur under the Patapur police limits in Ganjam district.The police have registered three cases.
It may be noted that six police officials, including the IIC, were injured and hospitalised after being attacked by locals on Tuesday. The locals were then staging a road blockade protesting attack on a driver (a co-villager) by two youths of Taptapani. While police tried to pacify them. the latter pelted stones at the cops.
