Chief Minister Raghubar Das today came down heavily upon the forces disturbing peace and constitutional sanctity in rural areas of the State in the name of Patthalgadi (Age old ritual of tribals to put monoliths on the grave of ancestors). Speaking from the platform of his party’s divisional panchayat level workers meet at Khunti, Das said that the Government will deal with such elements with force.
“There is no doubt that Patthalgadi is in the culture of Jharkhand but it is for demarcation of a village. It is not for stopping development work or stopping road, water pipeline, electricity line construction. In the name of Patthalgadi some anti-national forces are misguiding the innocent villagers. We will not let this happen. The government will crush such forces,” said the CM.
However, he said that people from social organisations will also have to come forward to help the Government for this cause. They should spread awareness and Government will deal with the menace.
These are the same forces, which played a major role in the arrest of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. We will not let these forces germinate again on the soil. I will personally visit the affected areas and talk to the villagers,” added the CM.
Das further added that he went to heavily Maoist infested Gudri Block where no Chief Minister had ever gone. “As many as 79 villages of Gudri have electricity now. Similarly, a Jan Adalat was organised at Garu block and electricity reached there also. I will not let anyone snatch land of the poor tribals. Allegations are leveled on us that the government will snatch land but in reality leaders of parties in the name of Jharkhand have captured land of poor tribals the most. We will bring them to book,” he said.
Appealing to his party cadres to make government’s achievements reach every household, Das said that the soul of the party stays in panchayats and booths. He asked for greater coordination of the party organization with the rural institutions and stressed on coordination between government and organization. Das asked to set up leadership at panchayat level and directed division head to hold meeting with panchayat incharge every month.
The CM praised the work of lakhs of workers and thanked them for making BJP the largest political party of the world. He asked them to reinvigorate themselves for 2019 elections and give a bigger surprise to political pundits with a bigger win. He cited several government schemes being run by the Centre and State for the welfare of poor people of the State and said that the party runs on the single agenda of development.
State BJP president laxman Gilua, Organisational Secretary Dhrampal, Khunti and lohardaga MPs Karia Munda and Sudarshan Bhagat, several MlAs and hundreds of workers were present in the meeting.
