In a bid to avert untoward incidents, Ranchi district administration has beefed up security at a number of vulnerable points. Additional deployment of security personnel at the sensitive zones within the State Capital jurisdiction has been ensured by the district administration team.

Ranchi DC, Rai Mahimapat Ray said, “As per the detailed plan, the security arrangements have been done at a few major avenues besides issuing the guidelines to traffic police to conduct regular checking drive to counter the increasing cases of rash driving, drunk driving etc. Vulnerable localities like MG Road, Kutchery Chowk, Circular Road and other prime avenues are under the strict surveillance of the Magistrates, senior officials.”

Further, a senior traffic police official stated that the traffic constables have been instructed to check the vehicles and follow traffic rules stringently. Extra forces have been deputed at traffic junctions to avoid traffic congestion during the rushed hours.

The senior police official assured that a control room will be functional round the clock to assist the city residents in case of emergency. Ray further added, “Picnic spots, city parks are under the radar of the district administration team. Besides just managing the traffic, the district administration will deploy constables at the city parks, picnic spots to prevent untoward incidents there.”

Also, Shakti Commandoes (Group-B) will aid the district administration team in managing the affairs on December 31 and January 1. “The district administration has issued a helpline number too. Do’s and Don’t banners, posters have been put up alongside the major avenues as well as at the recreational sites for the assistance of city residents,” said Ray. The officials of district administration have appealed to the city residents to follow the rules and support the district administration.
