Terming Ayushman Bharat Yojana (ABY) as a very useful scheme for the people from weak social and economical backgrounds, the joint secretary medical health and family welfare, Government of India Sudhansh Pant said that ABY is the second biggest centrally funded scheme after National Health Mission (NHM) in the country. He was speaking at a review meeting held for ABY at the state health directorate auditorium on Thursday.
Pant said that as per the guidelines, a total of 5.37 lakh families were to be given benefit of health cover of Rs 5 lakh. He appreciated the fact that the Uttarakhand government has decided to include all the 22 lakh families living in the state under the scheme.
Informing about the scheme’s implementation in Uttarakhand, the nodal officer and additional director Dr Saroj Naithani said that Family Health Planning limited, Hyderabad has been selected as implementation and support agency for the scheme. She claimed that data of 87 percent families has been collected for ABY. Dr Naithani further informed that 97 government hospitals, eight private hospitals and three medical college hospitals have been included in the list of panelled hospitals.
The director general health services Dr T C Pant and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
