The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar has a total of 933 sanctioned doctor post in categories of lecturer, Senior Resident and Junior Resident and, of them, 531 posts are lying vacant now.
Health Minister Pratap Jena informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of Congress MlA Tara Prasad Bahinipati recently.
According to the Minister, 129 out of 350 lecturer posts, 190 out of 327 Senior Resident posts and 212 of 301 Junior Resident posts have not been filled up yet.
The Minister informed that while the recruitment process for 72 lecturer posts has been completed, advertisement would be published for recruitment to the balance vacant posts.
Similarly, the AIIMS has a total of 3,161 nonteaching posts and, of them, only 930 posts have been filled up.
The recruitment process for 1,212 Group-B posts are at the final stage and the rest posts would be fill up in a phased manner, the Minister said.
He said the Government has no information that patients are suffering a lot due to the vacancies.
