50 per cent reservation for women in teachers' recruitment: CM

Teachers would be recruited in September with 50 per cent reservation for women. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said this on Thursday while addressing a huge public meeting after performing bhoomi-pujan of construction works worth more than Rs  21 crore at Prithvipur in Tikamgarh district.

Chouhan said that the Sambal Yojana is a campaign to transform the lives of the poor. The state government has opened its treasury to enrich the poor. He said that there is no difference in the state government’s action and words.

What the government says, so it does. The Chief Minister said that the state government has not just given the slogan of poverty alleviation like the previous government, but it has actually meted out justice to the poor. Giving information about the development and public welfare schemes of the state government, Chouhan said that the Group Tap Water Scheme worth Rs 173 crore in Prithvipur has been completed. This scheme will enable supply of water to every house in about 150 villages of the area through taps.

Chouhan said that the Ban-Sujara irrigation project will help bring greenery and prosperity in the region. Referring to the Ken-Betwa project he said that discussion is in progress with the Uttar Pradesh regarding the state’s share of water. We will get our share of water which can transform the entire irrigation scenario of the region. Our government has given topmost priority to irrigation.

Giving information about Saubhagya Yojana, Chouhan said that every village, habitat has power connection now. The day is not far when every poor person’s house will be illuminated. Referring to Sambal Yojana, he said that the state government is providing all facilities and assistance to meritorious students from poor families up to higher education. He called upon the poor families to shed all worries regarding the higher education of their children and educate them, as the state government will take care of all necessary arrangements.

Union Minister of State for Woman and Child Development Virendra Kumar, Minister in charge Rustum Singh, MlA Anita Sunil Naik and Anil Jain, District Panchayat President Parvatlal Ahirwar, other public representatives and a huge crowd of people were present on the occasion.
