A 45-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain worth Rs 40,000 at near laghati under Koh-e-Fiza police station area in the early morning hours on Thursday.
Police said that the victim Sunita Sharma had gone for morning walk and while she was near Nevri temple she was attacked by two bike borne miscreants and snatched the gold chain.
A complaint was lodged with the police by the victim. In the complaint the victim claimed that the two bike borne miscreants in the age group of 20 years attacked her and escaped with the gold chain she was wearing. She raised alarm but all went in vain as the miscreants managed to escape the spot. Also she could not notice the registration number of the bike.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The victim is a resident of Ramanand Nagar and left the house at around 5 am for morning walk and at around 5.15 am she was robbed of her gold chain she was wearing.
Police said that the victim has claimed that the robbed gold chain was worth Rs 40000. The victim was alone at the time of the incident and the place was deserted and miscreants managed to rob and escape easily.
In the further investigation police would investigate CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas which would help in the nabbing the accused.
