2,780 kids get MR vaccnation
According to the report of Civil Surgeon (CS), over 2780 children residing in urban localities have been covered till date under Measles - Rubella (MR) campaign initiated from July 26 across Jharkhand. According to Ranchi Civil Surgeon, Shivshankar Harijan, attempts are being undertaken to further cover more number of children aged between 9 to 15 years under MR campaign ensuring all safety measures.
Mayor terms ward councilors demand illegal
Mayor, Asha lakra during a press meet organized here on Monday to clarify her stance over the issue of calling a special board meeting, considering two major demands of the ward councilors –Cleanliness and service extension of Naresh Sinha deputed as PRO,OS, RO in Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC), lakra termed the demands of councilors illicit. The Mayor during the press meet asked for a clarification as on what ground the special board meeting should be called as the Municipal Corporation act do not guarantee any such rights, if in case, the issues as mentioned stands null and void.
Importance of recycling
The students of class II were really seen busy on Monday, giving their whole in the activity on recycling. Taking the dream of ‘Clean India… Green India’ in their eyes they performed the activity elucidating that why it is important to recycle, its benefits and abrupt positive effect on the climate. The programme also comprised beautiful poems in English and Hindi. The song and Drama on wet and dry garbage were the bombshells to the spectators. The young hopes of tomorrow effortlessly showed the consequences of our heedlessness towards the environment. The tiny citizens of the country concluded the program with the message that not everyone can do great things but little things can do great change.
Workshop on Ol’Chiki Script
The fifth day of the workshop on Ol’Chiki Script (Santhali) commenced at Indira Gandhi National for the Arts, Ranchi Regional Centre’s office, here on Monday. The workshop was divided into two sessions and each session had the duration of one hour each. More than 60 students participated in the workshop. In both the workshop sessions basic grammar were taught to the participants. In the first session, Gajendra Nath Kisku, an Ol’Chiki scholar was the speaker of the session and the chairperson was Dr. T.N Sahu, Head Tribal Regional language, Ranchi University. At the on set Dr. Bachchan Kumar, Regional Director, IGNCA, RRC welcomed the eminent guests and participants. The chairperson, Dr. T.N Sahuintroduced the speaker to the participants. He also briefly discussed about the previous days’ session and how it had benefitted the participants of the workshop.
