UHBVN to hear grievances from July 2 to 27

Chandigarh: Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam’s Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF) member will make extensive visits in July for hearing grievances of consumers and to entertain new complaints. Spokesperson said that the Forum’s proceedings will be held in Yamunanagar on July 2, BBMB Rest House at Panipat on July 4, Karnal on July 6, Sonipat on July 10, Rohtak on July 12, Panchkula on July 16, Panipat on July 18, Ambala on July 20, Kurukshetra on July 23, Kaithal on July 25 and Jhajjar on July 27 respectively. All the consumers are requested to avail the opportunity for the redressal of their grievances.

CIAC honours lPU as ‘Most Innovative University’

Jalandhar: The Confederation of International Accreditation Commission (CIAC) has honoured lovely Professional University with the ‘Most Innovative University of the Year Award’, at India International Centre, New Delhi. CIAC (Global) had organized its fifth International Education Forum-2018 in association with Asian-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI). On the occasion, lPU executive dean Dr lovi Raj Gupta has also been bestowed with ‘Jury Special Award for being Inspiring Academic leader of the Year’. AICTE Director Manpreet Singh Manna and CIAC Global president Dr GD Singh presented both the awards.

Patwari caught red-handed taking bribe

Chandigarh: Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Dara Singh, Patwari, posted at Halqa Shyadawa, while accepting illegal gratification of Rs 5,000 from one Shakti Singh in lieu of the measurement of agriculture land. Spokesperson said that a case has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The Bureau has also caught Assistant Sub-Inspector Wali Mohmad, posted at Police Station-SGM Nagar, NIT Faridabad red-handed, while accepting illegal gratification of Rs 3,000, from Sanjeev Bhatia in lieu of the compromise between both parties.

Rs 9 cr approved for Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Marg-II

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal has accorded administrative approval amounting to Rs 8.96 crore for the widening and strengthening of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Marg-II (Toka to Khatauli Section) in Panchkula district. Spokesperson said that the Chief Minister has also approved a proposal for the transfer of proposed 100 acres land of gram panchayat Bakhtawarpur alias Raiya to Maharana Partap Horticultural University, Karnal, instead of Horticulture Department for a lease period of 33 years at the rate of Rs one per year per acre on same terms and conditions.

Charu Bali given additional charge of Haryana CAW

Chandigarh: Haryana government has given IPS officer Charu Bali, currently posted as Commissioner of Police Panchkula, the additional charge of Inspector General of Police, Crime Against Women (CAW), Haryana, with immediate effect.

Unani Medical College Hospital in Mewat

Chandigarh: Haryana AYUSH Minister Anil Vij on Friday said that the Government Unani Medical College and Hospital would be established at Akera village in Mewat district. Vij said that this would be the first Unani college in Mewat area. The college would be established over six acres which would be made available by the panchayat of Akera village. A sum of about Rs 10.50 crore would be spent on it, he added. He said that the college would have seats of Bachelor in Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) doctors. The Government intends to establish AYUSH wing in each district of the state. At present, 10 Unani doctors are rendering their services in different health centres of the state.

Haryana police arrest wanted criminal

Chandigarh: Haryana Police has arrested a wanted criminal, Devender alias Bichhu carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, alongwith his accomplices from Rohtak during a night domination drive. With their arrest, 14 cases including four of loot and extortion took place in a day in Sampla and Kalanaur have been unearthed. Police spokesperson said that as directed by the Director General of Police BS Sandhu, a statewide night domination drive was conducted. During this, intensive night patrolling and nakabandi was carried out to conduct surprise check at various locations in the state including Rohtak.
