BJD protests fuel price hike in B’pur

Brahmapur: BJD members held a demonstration protesting the hike in the prices of petrol and diesel in front of the RDC (SD) office here on Tuesday. They severely criticised the Central Government, especially Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, for the hike of the fuel prices. A memorandum addressed to the President of India was submitted at the RDC office. local MlA Ramesh Chandra Chaupatnaik, former Union Minister Chandra Sekhar Sahu, BCC Bank president Alekha Chaudhury, BeMC Deputy Mayor Jyostna Nayak, BDA Chairman Subash Moharana, Corporators and others were present.

Joda BJD protests fuel price rise 

Champua: The Joda BJD unit led by its block president Kunja Palei held a demonstration in front of the block office on Wednesday shouting slogans against the Modi Government for petroleum price rise. later, a memorandum was submitted to the local BDO. Other leaders who participated were Giridhari Naik, (SDC member), Md Nasser (Dist Minority Cell president), Nira Bahidar, Jjitendra Jaiswal, Deepak Satpathy, Sushanta Barik, MR Das and Radha Naik.

Ali BJD protests fuel price hike

Ali: The Ali BJD held a demonstration in protest against hike in the prices of petrol and diesel in front of the Tehsil office here on Wednesday. Ali BJD president Jagatananda Bal presided over the meeting. Panchayat Samiti Chairman Jharana Dash, Kendrapada ZP member Satyabhama Mallick, Dhanaranjan Bose, Dasarath Mallick, Dibakar Nayak, Bhisma Mohanty, Pradyumna Dash, Dipak Bhuyan, Kedarnath Behera, Sarat Rout and Manoranjan Samal spoke, among others. They criticised the Central Government severely for the hike of fuel prices.  

Suktel dam-hit villagers seek rehabilitation

Balangir: Villagers of Pardhiapali near the lower Suktel dam project have urged the Balangir district Collector to provide them homestead land at the earliest. The villagers alleged that they have been facing the problem of dust and unless steps are taken to divert the water flow in Suktel river, the village would face the flood problem. Source said as many as 70 families living in Pardhiapali village would be displaced first. “Unless the district administration provides us land and rehabilitates us properly, we will stop the project work,” said a villager.
