BJD protests fuel price hike in B’pur
Brahmapur: BJD members held a demonstration protesting the hike in the prices of petrol and diesel in front of the RDC (SD) office here on Tuesday. They severely criticised the Central Government, especially Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, for the hike of the fuel prices. A memorandum addressed to the President of India was submitted at the RDC office. local MlA Ramesh Chandra Chaupatnaik, former Union Minister Chandra Sekhar Sahu, BCC Bank president Alekha Chaudhury, BeMC Deputy Mayor Jyostna Nayak, BDA Chairman Subash Moharana, Corporators and others were present.

Ali: The Ali BJD held a demonstration in protest against hike in the prices of petrol and diesel in front of the Tehsil office here on Wednesday. Suktel dam-hit villagers seek rehabilitation
Balangir: Villagers of Pardhiapali near the lower Suktel dam project have urged the Balangir district Collector to provide them homestead land at the earliest. The villagers alleged that they have been facing the problem of dust and unless steps are taken to divert the water flow in Suktel river, the village would face the flood problem. Source said as many as 70 families living in Pardhiapali village would be displaced first. “Unless the district administration provides us land and rehabilitates us properly, we will stop the project work,” said a villager.
