Guv, CM felicitate people on Buddha Purnima
Shimla: Himachal Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur have felicitated the people of the state on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. The Governor said that lord Buddha preached for love and social harmony and his teachings were more relevant today. We all should follow the Noble Truths and Eight Fold Path as shown by him. The Chief Minister said that Buddha Purnima was a sacred festival and the teachings of lord Buddha were solely to liberate human beings from the misery and sufferings and help one to live a peaceful life.
Over 78.64 lakh MT wheat procured
Chandigarh: Wheat procurement in the Haryana has surpassed last year’s level. A total of 78.64 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of wheat has been procured by the state agencies till now against 74.25 lakh MT last year, said a spokesman. He said, while state agencies have procured over 78.64 lakh metric tonnes, the traders have procured 441 metric tonnes. Over 31.92 lakh MT has been procured by Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation limited (HAFED), whereas Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has purchased more than 23.28 lakh MT wheat. District Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where over 10.27 lakh MT of the crop had been procured followed by district Karnal, which recorded more than 8.54 lakh MT wheat arrival.

Over 1.44 lakh MT mustard purchased
Chandigarh:The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation has so far purchased over 1.44 lakh metric tonnes of mustard during the current purchase season. As many as 75,905 farmers have so far been benefited with this purchase, said a spokesman of the Federation. He said that 32,432.90 MT of mustard has been purchased in district Bhiwani, 6,190.42 MT in Charkhi Dadri, 3,774.90 MT in Fatehabad, 9,366.34 MT in Gurugram, 956.50 MT in Nuh, 16,530.40 MT in Hisar, 1017 MT in Jind, 12,578.10 MT in Jhajjar, 140.35 MT in Karnal, 21,329.39 MT in Mahendragarh, 17,414.20 MT in Rewari, 9,993.60 MT in Rohtak and 13,067.70 MT in Sirsa.

Experts advise on how to stop substance abuse
Chandigarh: A team of experts from Fortis Hospital, Mohali conducted an awareness camp at Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School here. The informative awareness session was conducted to create awareness about ill effects of drug abuse as well as abusive alcohol consumption.
