Greed for easy money to flaunt and fuel alcohol addiction, one Sunny (23) was arrested for being involved in ten cases of auto-theft by Delhi Police (southeast) on Monday. The accused was caught by patrolling staff on duty at Govindpuri Chowk.
Two stolen Motorcycles and two scooties were recovered from his possession. "As part of the crack-down on auto-lifters, picketing and patrolling was strengthened in the area of Southeast district, in the crackdown, Sunny was arrested," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Chinmoy Biswal stated. "During sustained interrogation, the accused person disclosed that he is a school drop-out and had studied till 11th class. He became addicted to liquor and used to show-off in front of his female friends. He was not earning enough to meet his needs. Therefore, he decided to steal motorcycles to earn quick money," said the DCP.
