Sir — It is unfortunate that Steve Smith and David Warner devised a plan and asked Cameron Bancroft to tamper with the ball so as to enable Australians to win a cricket Test match. One fails to understand as to why the Australian cricket team values victory much higher than the spirit of the game and higher than the pristine purity of Test cricket. With nearly 25 cameras covering the Test match, Australians could not escape the sharp focus of the eye of the camera. It now appears that this incident might put an end to the career of the players.
