The twin towers of Hyderabad city — Police Command and Control Centres — will be ready by the end of October, State Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy said. He told the State Assembly that the construction of the project at a cost of Rs 350 crore had reached an advanced stage and on completion, it would be linked to the Command and Control centres of the police in all the 31 district headquarters.
Replying to a question in the Assembly, the Home Minister said that the entire project was being built by the state government and the Central government did not extend any assistance for it
While the Tower A will have ground plus 19 floors, the Tower B will have ground plus 17 floors. “The hitech centre will befit the image of Hyderabad as a global city and it will enable people-friendly policing,” he said, adding that it would be a model centre in the entire country.
The centre, fast coming up in Banjara Hills, will add a new feather to the cap of Telangana Police which have earned a name in the country by bringing down the crime rate and ensure law and order.
The Home Minister also announced several other measures to improve facilities for the police, including new office buildings for the SPs in 13 new districts. Three modern police stations, two police training colleges and training centre for the Anti-Terrorist Octopus Force will also come up in Hyderabad at a cost of Rs 100 crore, he said.
