Claiming himself to be much bigger “dramebaj” (theatric) than Narendra Modi, State Congress president, Raj Babbar on Monday accused the Prime Minister for hanging around the industrialists in the name of “Bhagidari” just to divert the public attention from Raffle deal and large scale corruption of his Government.
“The speech of PM in lucknow on Sunday was nothing by a pure dramebaji to show himself as innocent and even pointed out an ill man ( Amar Singh) to prove his innocence. He said that Narendra Modi is just trying to divert the media attention by his theatrical act in the Parliament and later by hanging around with businessmen in the name of Investors Summit”, asserted Babber while claiming that if the party allows him then he could do better dramebaji than the PM. “The people of the country wanted to know why the Raffle deal was so important for the NDA Government and that why the contract has been snatched from a Government owned organisation HAl and handed over to PM’s industrialist’s friend”, Babbar added.
Addressing a Press conference here on Monday, a day after the PM alleged that Opposition leader used to have close door meetings with the industrialists and took all benefits from them, Raj Babbar claimed that Party president Rahul Gandhi had the courage of making charges openly in the Parliament but the PM lacked the same and was afraid to take any name. “Rahul Gandhi had never met any industrialists and hence there is no photograph of him with them. The people who are the partner(bhagedar) of the industrialists have photographs with them,’ he said.
Questioning the PM on the Raffle deal, he said why the PM is afraid of disclosing the reason for handing over the Raffle aircraft manufacturing contact to a private company which was registered just 15 days before the award and did not have any experience of even making a bi-cycle. “The company which was given the award was just erecting poles but suddenly the NDA government felt it was capable of manufacturing aircraft,” he said. Besides he said it was for the first time in the history of the country that a private company was given the contract instead of the government owned HAl.
“The PM should also reply why the aircraft, which was slated to be purchased at Rs 550 crores per aircraft in the contact made by the UPA government has gone up to Rs 1650 crores per aircraft in just four years. Is this not a bhagidariIJ”, Babbar questioned with referring to the Pol-Khol of Rahul Gandhi in the Parliament. “Modi said everything good about his four year governance, but can he reply about the industrial growth which was 6 per cent during UPA period but in 2018 it plunged to 3.3 per cent,” he said.
