Amid public uproar across the country over the CBSE paper leak, MNS chief Raj Thackeray slammed the covernment on Friday and exhorted the affected parents across the country not to let their wards reappear in the re-examinations.
On a day when the CBSE announced that the re-examination for the Class 12 Economics papers will be held on April 25 and said that a decision on Class 10 mathematics would be taken in the next 15 days, the MNS chief said that instead of admitting its lapse for the leak of question papers, the government was subjecting lakhs of hapless students to re-examination. In a brief statement issued here, Raj said: “The CBSE question papers leaked long before the actual examinations. The government is responsible for the leak. Instead of making amends or admitting its lapse, the government is subjecting students to re-examinations”. “If the Government cannot maintain secrecy over the question papers, how can anyone blame the students for the lapseIJ Why should the students appear for the re-examinationsIJ,” the MNS chief asked.
In an appeal made to parents across the country not to let their wards appear in the re-examination, the MNS chief said: “It is my appeal to all the affected parents not to let their children appear for the re-examinations to be conducted by the CBSE. If the government realises that you are bending, then the government will make you kneel”.
“That’s why I request you to stand firm. let the government take whatever decision it wants to take. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena stands firmly by the students and their parents,” Raj said.
Meanwhile, Union Education Secretary Anil Swarup announced that the CBSE re-examination for the Class 12 Economics will be held on April 25, while a decision on the CBSE re-exam for the Class 10 maths paper will be taken in the next 15 days.
