A 25-year old housewife was strangulated by her husband at their house located at Mohammadpur Khatri area under the Gudamba police station on Friday morning following a dispute. The deceased was identified as Shivangi Singh.
After strangulating Shivangi with ‘dupatta’, her husband luvkush Yadav rang up the police station at 7 am informing cops that he had killed his wife and also stated the motive for the incident.
The police said that he was reading a newspaper on a chair in verandah of the house while his wife was preparing meals in the morning. Their two-and-a-half year-old son Abhinav was sleeping on a cot in the other room.
All of a sudden, the son fell down on the cot and started crying which drew the attention of the husband who rushed to pick up his son. He wad disgusted with his wife for her carelessness. He ridiculed her for not taking care of the son and thrashed her. He strangulated her in anger with the ‘duppatta’ which was around her neck. She died on the spot.
However, the other version of the incident was said to be the strained relations between husband wife. The neighbours said that they were quarrelling for the past two days.
