Bollywood’s yesteryear glamorous actress Zeenat has lodged a police complaint against a businessman for allegedly “stalking” and indulging in “an act intended to insult the modesty of a woman”.

Confirming the development, a Mumbai police spokesperson said here on Tuesday that the ex-actress had lodged a complaint with the Juhu police station in north-west Mumbai on Monday against one Amar Khan under sections 354-D (stalking) and 509 (act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC. “The police are investigating the matter,” he said.

Having apparently got the wind of the complaint lodged against him by the erstwhile actress, Khan has absconded. The investigators are looking for the accused businessman.

The preliminary investigations have revealed that 68-year-old Aman had known Khan in the past. However, following a spat with Khan over a property matter, the erstwhile actress stopped talking to him for quite some time now.

Though Aman had severed all contacts with the businessman, the erstwhile actress alleged in her complaint that Khan used to pester and stalk her over phone.

Known for her westernised looks, Aman made debut in OP Ralhan's Hulchal in 1971 and acted in Hungama the same year. She became the rage of Bollywood after Dev Anand formally introduced her in Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971). With R D Burman-penned song Dum Maro Dum taking her to new heights, she went on to act in memorable films like Heera Panna (1973), Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), Ishq Ishq Ishq (1974), Prem Shastra (1974), Warrant (1975),  Darling Darling (1977), Chaila Babu (1977), Dostana (1980) and laawaaris (1981).

In 1985, she married an younger actor Mazhar Khan and had two sons Azaan and Zahaan from him. Mazhar Khan died in September 1998 of renal failure. Currently,  Aman lives with her two sons at Juhu and makes social appearances and at times attends film awards functions.
