Perturbed by the recent controversies by statements of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, the BJP top brass has summoned Deb to the national Capital.
Sources in the BJP on Sunday said that the top brass has summoned the Tripura Chief Minister on May 2 to New Delhi.
While the newly-elected Chief Minister had last week stated that internet and satellite communication existed during the Mahabharata era, he also questioned the crowning of Diana Hayden as Miss world in 1997.
Trailing the controversies, Deb has recently advised the educated youth in his State to “set up paan shops instead of running after political parties for several years to get Government jobs and waste vital time of their life.”
“A bank balance of Rs 5 lakh would have been a reality by now for them,” said Deb recently.
“The party is embarrassed due to the series of controversies triggered by Deb. The BJP came to power in Tripura with lots of hope and people has lots of aspirations’” said a senior BJP leader in the State adding that Amit Shah and other party top brass will meet Deb on May 2.
