In order to pacify discontent among MlAs, top leaderships of BJP and Congress were in damage control mode on Friday and held long meetings with complaining legislators of their respective parties.
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel had more than three hours long meeting with three out of two MlAs from Vadodara – Madhu Srivastava and Ketan Inamdar.
Yogesh Patel who didn’t come to Gandhinagar despite repeated calls from Patel’s office gave excuse of routine medical check-up to avoid meeting.
The three Vadodara MlAs are complaining that their issues are not being heard by some of the senior bureaucrats sitting in Gandhinagar.
According to them they were kept waiting outside the chambers of bureaucrats when they go with issues related to their constituencies.
Srivasatava said that he and Inamdar submitted a list of senior officials who didn’t attend them. He said that there were nearly 25-30 such officials were ‘out of control’ and disobeying their elected bosses.
Inamdar on his part clarified that all the three MlA had no complain for his party’s leadership and they were not agitating against the Government.
Talking to media post meeting with the two MlAs, Nitin Patel said that their grievances would be addressed and action would be taken against those officials who deliberately avoiding elected representatives.
Patel however denied giving names of erring officials saying that after the return of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani from Israel, issues of MlAs would be sort out.
Meanwhile Jasdan MlA Kuvarji Bavalia who had skipped important meeting of Congress MlAs called by GPCC in-charge Rajiv Satav on Thursday, attended an event held by GPCC on issues of farmers in Rajkot.
Sources in Congress said that after having telephonic talk with GPCC President Amit Chavda Bavalia decided to attend the event in which all 21 MlAs from Saurashtra region remained present. He also addressed farmers on multiple issues related to farmers including that of prices of agro commodities.
