An 11-year-old girl student of a reputed school on Sohna Road, was allegedly raped by her neighbour at Sector-84 in Manesar on Wednesday. The accused is still absconding, police said. The matter was reported to police on same day. Police took the girl for medical examination where the report confirmed rape.
The victim’s mother filed a complaint against Piyush (22) and said “On Wednesday evening her daughter was playing in the society and went into the basement of the building. The accused was already present there and raped the survivor”.
To hide the crime, the accused, Piyush, threatened the victim with dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone. However, after returning back to home the victim revealed the incident to her mother and the matter was reported to the police.
A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) has been registered against the accused at women’s police station at Manesar.
“A police team had visited the spot and collect information about the matter. The crime took place inside the building basement. The minor survivor is being counselled with the help of an NGO and hunts are on to nab the accused,” said Shakuntala Yadav, Assistant Commissioner of police (Women’s crime).
