Govt set to launch its own Ayushman

Friday, 31 August 2018 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Delhi Government is all set to launch its own health scheme for Delhi people.

At time Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has denied to implement Centre’s Ayushman Bahart healthcare scheme due to its name, the Delhi Government is making assessment to launch its own healthcare scheme — titled ‘Mukhya Mantri Aam Aadmi Swasthya Bima Yojna-Ayushman Bharat’.

The primary reason for non—implementation of the scheme according  Government officials is  the center’s scheme is based on economic senses of 2011.  Moreover, AAP believes that coverage 20 million people under this scheme is not enough and it wants to add another 50 million beneficiaries to it.  Interestingly, Delhi is the first State to refuse to implement the scheme. Earlier, Odisha also had rejected the scheme.

Meanwhile, taking a dig on timely denied and making own health Insurance sachem, leader of Opposition (loP) in Delhi legislative Assembly, Vijender Gupta said that it is just a political gimmick.

“AAP Government out to derail implementation of the Central Government’s Mega Health Insurance Scheme for Delhi’s poor people, Why he denied to implement the scheme just three weeks left to implement scheme and one week left to start process for sending Quick Response Code,”  the BJP leader Gupta said. Incidentally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi

had announced a budget provision of Rs 10,000 crores for this scheme.

Notably, the scheme is scheduled to roll out from September 25, the BJP leaders in Delhi refuting AAP for announcing its denial for the implementation of health scheme in national capital.

“If Kejriwal government is planning to make its own health scheme for Delhi people, where is the blue print,” Gupta asked. The Ayushaman Bharat is termed as the biggest universal healthcare scheme not only in India but worldwide too. The insurance scheme will provide poor people cashless insurance protection of Rs 5 lakh per year and is aimed at including 500 million Indian.
