Concerned over poor ranking of East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) in Swachchta Survekshan 2018, Commissioner of East Corporation Dr Ranbir Singh on Thursday held a meeting with all the heads of departments to discuss the implementation of various initiatives to improve ranking of East Delhi that slipped from 196 to 341.
Singh said that diminishing ranking of East Corporation is a matter of serious concern. He stressed that to improve our ranking in 2019, it’s important to review the past activities to learn the mistakes and correct it to improve the ranking in 2019.
He expressed concerns over the bad conditions of toilets in the jurisdiction of EDMC and issued directions to ensure civic services in its locality. ‘The cooperation of Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) and market associations is similarly very important in overall development of civic amenities,” he said.
Commissioner also stressed the need of starting a social media campaign so that more and more people can be made aware of in maintaining cleanness in their surroundings.
