After much hullabaloo among the academic circles of the  Delhi University following the story by The Pioneer that Deputy Dean Students’ Welfare (Dy DSW), Dr GS Tuteja may participate in a private counseling centre’s session for DU aspirants, the session went on in his absence on Thursday.

With this the tall claims of a private counseling centre that the senior DU official will ‘definitely’ attend their session, has fallen flat.

Dr GS Tuteja while talking to The Pioneer said he has never given his consent or agreement to any private counseling centre.

“I have no connection of any sort with any private centre. They have used my photograph without my permission. I have never given my consent to them either explicitly or implicitly for participating in their programme,” said Tuteja. While, Tuteja also alleged that a political nexus is working against him to malign his image by defaming him.

Tuteja who is also the member of Admission Committee of DU is known to play “key-role” in framing the admission policies since last several years and is considered as one of the most efficient officials of the University.

His colleague Deputy Dean Dr Amrita Bajaj said that coaching institutes and private counseling centres often give the name of teachers involved in admission process in their advertisement for the purpose of “publicity”.

“This they do for attracting more crowd as students will show more interest in attending their session on knowing that some expert from the university like DU will guide them,” she said.

On the other hand, the private counseling centre when contacted admitted that Dr Tuteja didn’t participated but failed to give any reason for the same.
