In yet another scuffle over property between brothers, a South Delhi-based orthopedic doctor was injured when his brother opened fire at him outside his residence in South Delhi's Fatehpur Beri area. While the injured doctor suspects the role of his two brothers behind the firing, police are yet to reach a conclusion.
In retaliation to the two to three rounds, the injured doctor, identified as Dr Hans U Nagar fired 12 -13 rounds at his brothers, leaving them critically injured.
Confirming the incident, Romil Baaniya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) said, “On April 29, at around 1:05am, we received a PCR call about firing at Gadaipur. On reaching the spot, the injured, Dr Hans Nagar stated that he received gunshot injuries after he was attacked by around three to four people. He suspected that both of his brothers (John and Ron) and four others are behind planning of this attack.”
The DCP further said, "There is a long standing property dispute between the victim and his brothers over a property in Gurgaon. He is under treatment and is reported to be conscious and stable. The Orthopedic doctor further stated that he also retaliated by firing 12- 13 rounds back from his licensed pistol in which he believes that one or two of the attackers have got injured. Approximately 22 empty cartridges and 2 live rounds of 9mm and .0.32 bore have been found at the spot."
"We have registered a case under sections of attempt to murder, punishment for criminal conspiracy and relevant sections of the Arms Act on the statement of Dr Hans nagar at the Fatehpur Beri police station. Suspects are being interrogated," added Baaniya.
