BJP accuses Maken, Kejriwal of fleecing power consumers

Saturday, 30 June 2018 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

Attacking Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken, Delhi BJP media chief Pratyush Kanth accused Maken and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of fleecing innocent people through Delhi Power Ministry.

Kanth said Maken was scheduled to hold a Press conference against the Kejriwal Government on Friday but cancelled it at the last moment. “leaders of the Congress will be framed if CBI investigation is ordered in this loot,” he alleged.

Earlier, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari on Thursday had said Kejriwal Government in connivance with private distribution companies has looted Rs 800 crore in last four months and demanded that this money should be refunded back to the people.

Tiwari said early this year, the Kejriwal Government allowed an unprecedented hike in per Kilowatt laid surcharge and the Discoms without any prior notice increased the sanction load of lakhs of consumers.

“The issue doesn’t end here as Government is also giving the private companies a subsidy of Rs 100 crore per month on this account. We need to closely look at the link Ajay Maken has with the Kejriwal Government,” Kanth alleged.
