The Delhi Traffic Police on Sunday issued a traffic advisory regarding the construction of a grade separator at Rani Jhansi Road.
The press advisory read, "General public is advised to avoid the affected segment of Rani Jhansi Road and take alternative routes. Traffic restrictions for heavy commercial vehicles will be effected from May 1 from 09.00 PM to 07.00 AM till the completion of the Grade Separator project."
The traffic police said that traffic coming from Rani Jhansi Road, Faiz Road, Idgah Road, Karol Bagh will be diverted at Idgah round about towards New Rohtak road-Kaml T-Point-Shastri Nagar Metro Station-Chowki No. 2 Gulabi Bagh-Nagia Park-Shakti Nagar. Other alternative routes include-Traffic coming from Boulevard Road, Zorawar marg, Dr. Karnwal Marg will be diverted at Barafkhana Chowk towards Roshanara Road T-Point-old G T Karnal Road-Ghanta Ghar Chowk-Shakti Nagar. lastly, the traffic coming from Old Delhi Railway Station Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Marg will be diverted at Pul Mithai towards Khanna Market ISBT Ring Road and the Traffic coming from Inderlok towards Azad Market Chowk will be diverted at Shastri Nagar Metro Station towards Kamal T-Point, Chowki No. 2 Gulabi Bagh, Nagia Park, Shakti Nagar.
The traffic cops have advised commuters to avoid coming on Azad Market chowk and use alternative routes.
