45% people in Gzb slums sans voter IDs, 31% don't have bank a/cs, says survey

In a startling revelation, contrary to what Government figures claim, a survey conducted by two Non Government Organisations (NGO’s) in Ghaziabad slums showed that 45 per cent slum residents don’t possess voter identity cards and 31 per cent don’t have bank accounts.

Two NGO’s “lakshmi” and “Rashtriya Sainik Sansthan”, working for the upliftment of the downtrodden section of society conducted survey covering over 2000 families in Vijay Nagar and other slum areas of Ghaziabad. 

Jyoti Avasthi Director of lAKSHMI told that in Vijay Nagar zone Chand maari colony, Mirzapur, Kaila Dehat, Vir Abdul Hameed colony, Charan Singh colony and Sudamapuri  it was found that 57 percent children don’t possess birth certificate. 98 percent old persons don’t get old age pensions and 91 percent families don’t possess Ration Card to buy groceries.
