ISHWAR SINGH RECEVIES Indian Achievers’ Award for banking EXCEllENCE
Ishwar Singh, Field General Manager of Delhi Zone, Central Bank of India was awarded with Indian Achievers’ Award for 'Banking Excellence’ at the 44th Indian Achievers’ Seminar held on February 20, 2018 at India Habitat Centre. The award was presented by Sunil Shastri, President of lal Bahadur Shastri Foundation and Dr. Yaroslav Tarasyuk, Trade Commissioner, The Trade Representation of Russian Federation. After receiving the award, Singh addressed the gathering and highlighted Central Bank of India’s contribution towards MSME, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Stand-up India and other such schemes for upliftment of society.
JOB FAIR ORGANISED FOR DIVYANGJAN
A job fair for Persons with Disabilities was organized jointly by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities (Divyangjan) under the Department of Empowerment for Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and ‘Sarthak Educational Trust’-a Delhi based non-government organization- at 4, Vishnu Digambar Marg, New Delhi on Saturday. Employable persons with orthopedic disabilities, hearing impairments and visual impairments attended the Job Fair. Total 150 candidates were registered and interviewed in this job fair. The interviews were taken for 100 posts and 70 candidates were shortlisted for various different jobs.
MINISTER OF RAIlWAYS VISITS Production Unit ‘DASTAK’
Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways & Coal, Govt. of India, visited Dastak a production unit started by Railway Women’s Welfare Central Organization for making eco-friendly and affordable “sanitary pads” at its Sarojani Nagar Railway Colony centre, in New Delhi on February 25. Seema Goyal, President RWWCO Arunima lohani, Chairman Railway Board Ashwani lohani, General Manager, Northern Railway, Vishwesh Chaube, and other senior officers of Railway Board and Members of RWWCO were also present on the occasion. Appreciating the initiative of RWWCO, Piyush Goyal and Goyal congratulated lohani, Anita Chaube and the other members of RWWCO. The Minister said that such projects should be scaled up and Railways should be a leader in such social spheres.

Yashovardhan Azad, Information Commissioner, Central Information Commission, New Delhi in his address at the Inaugural Session of the one day Symposium on “Right to Information Act 2005” Organized by NlC India limited at learning &development Centre,Neyveli, on February 26 said, “The foremost important thing while providing information as per the Right To Information act is to ordine a balance between transparency and confidentiality, because the misuse of the RTI Act for vested interests has been a matter of grave concern which is adversely affecting the performance of enterprises”.

Gift of Reading to Students from Daman Administration and National Book Trust, India The UT Administration of Daman & Diu (Directorate of Education and District Panchayat); and National Book Trust, India are organizing three-day Daman Book Fair (26-28 February 2018) which was inaugurated on Monday at Macchi Mahajan Hall, Nani Daman by Suresh Bhai J Patel, Chairman of the Daman Zilla Panchayat. Patel spent considerable time while going through the books and interacting with students.
CMD, HUDCO receives “Technology Sabha Award”
Dr M Ravi Kanth, CMD HUDCO received the prestigious ‘Technology Sabha Award’ from Srikanth RP, Editor, Express Computer, Indian Express Group at Indore. The award was conferred on HUDCO for its successful pan-India implementation of video conferencing solutions under ‘Unified Communication’ category. Dr M Ravi Kanth also delivered the keynote address on the occasion.

Nadda in Global Digital Health Partnership Symposium
“Digital health has great potential towards reducing inequity in provisioning and distribution of healthcare resources and services and it can greatly facilitate proactive treatment for disabled patients, children with developmental delays and deformities and people suffering from mental health illnesses and for those suffering from stigmatic infections such as HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis.” This was stated by J P Nadda, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare during his address at the Global Digital Health Partnership Symposium at Sydney, Australia, on Tuesday. The Union Health Minister spoke on the topic– The role of digital health in supporting improved health outcomes in India. Michael Keenan, Minister of Human Services, Australia, Jim Birch AM, Chair, Australian Digital Health Agency, Professor Robyn Norton, Co-founder and Principal Director of the George Institute for Global Health, Professor Ian Jacobs, President and Vice-Chancellor, UNSW Sydney, along with delegates from other countries were also present at the event.
42 BHEl employees win Pm's Shram Awards
Among a host of Public and Private Sector companies in the country, employees of Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEl) have once again bagged the prestigious Prime Minister’s Shram Awards for their distinguished performance (2011 to 2016). 42 employees of BHEl, from its units located at Trichy, Haridwar, Bengaluru (Electronics Division & Electro-Porcelains Division), Hyderabad and Bhopal, shared 27 Shram awards including 4 Shram Bhushan, 10 Shram Vir/Veerangana and 13 Shram Shree/Devi awards for the years 2011-2016. The awards were presented by the Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu at a function held in New Delhi.

After 30 years’ of demand, KVIC’s divisional office inaugurated at Hubbali
PM Narendra Modi’s love for Khadi has a nationwide impact, it seems! And, now it was a turn of Karnataka, where the demand of opening a divisional office of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) in Hubbali - lying pending since last 30-odd years - was finally fulfilled on Saturday, when Union Minister of State for Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi inaugurated KVIC's divisional office at Bengari in Hubbali, followed by a grand conclave ‘Khadi Artisans Sammelan’ of more than 6000 Khadi artisans across the state. In his inaugural address, the Minister said that the Central Government is committed to safeguard the interest of weavers and has released Rs 32.28 crore for khadi institutions in the state. Hailing the KVIC for releasing 100 percent of grants, he said, “It was a great day for the weavers and spinners of Karnataka as this state has produced Khadi products worth Rs 135 crore.
