The Indian Education Network organised its 6th Higher Education Conclave 2018 in the Capital recently which was addressed by many delegates from higher education institutions including industry veterans, edtech enthusiasts and representatives from the Ministry of HRD, AICTE, and other Government authorities who share their thoughts and insights on strengthening Indian Education sector.
Conclave started with amazing dialogue by Priya Mathew, head, Pearl Academy. Dr Haim Ginott, author of Teacher and Child, said: “Help your children become human. Your efforts must never produce learned monsters, skilled psychopaths or educated Eichmanns. Reading, writing, and arithmetic are important only if they serve to make our children more human.”
On the occasion, Manpreet Singh Manna, director of AICTE, talked about the SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active learning for Young Aspiring Minds) MOOC programme and UGC’s plan to establish SWAYAM chapter in every institution to motivate the student to get that Swyam.
A short interaction was also held over the integration of skill development in higher education, the importance of e-learning and MOOC education, what students can do after college and jobs Vs entrepreneurship.
The event was followed by the award ceremony felicitating the candidates and dignitaries with Awards for Excellence in Skill Development and creating an environment to allow more and more such participants to help develop their skills and do an acclaimed job to prove their potential.
