Capture the moments

Underscoring the festive spirit of sharing and bonding, people from all walks of life partook in puja and the bhog at the numerous pandals across Delhi-NCR arranged by the various samitis, on Saturday celebrating Mahanavami during Durga Puja.

Men, donning traditional festive attire of kurta and pajama, and women, resplendent in bright saris, greeted friends, relatives and other acquaintances. Together they clicked selfies and idled away time with banter and fun, soaking in the infectious carnival spirit.

According to the Bengali tradition, Durga Puja begins with the symbolic arrival of Goddess Durga on earth along with her sons Kartik and Ganesha and daughters Saraswati and laxmi on Sashthi and ends on Dashami, which is also celebrated across the country as Dussehra.
