The BJP Government will complete all ongoing infrastructure work which is currently underway in Gurugram, Haryana Minister of Public Works (Building & Roads) Rao Narbir Singh said on Saturday. The Minister was speaking at a function organised in Sector 7 Gurugram on Saturday to start the reconstruction of 10-metre wide internal sector road there. The road will be constructed at a cost of Rs 151.97 lakh.
“The lack of infrastructure left by previous Government in Gurugram will now be compensated by the BJP Government and every care will be taken to fill the infrastructural gaps left due to the callous attitude of Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Government”, said the Minister.
The Hooda Government had “befooled” people by making false promises. Many projects remained incomplete as “no budgetary allocations were made for them”, he alleged. “We will not leave any work mid-way as the Hooda Government did,” Singh said.
On the contrary, the announcements made by the Manohar lal Khattar Government are backed by financial allotments, the State PWD Minister said at the inauguration of a project to reconstruct a 10-meter wide sector road, Singh added.
The Minister directed the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) officials that the reconstruction works of roads in HUDA Sectors and Municipal Corporation area, the encroachments along the roads would also be removed from right of way of the roads, so that the pedestrians got proper walking space and also proper drainage system can be made.
The encroachments along roads will also be removed, so that pedestrians get ample space and proper drainage infrastructure can be constructed, he said. “Residents should not feel bad about it, rather they should cooperate. This initiative is for the welfare of all,” Singh said. He further said an amount of Rs 102 crore would be spent on upgradation and reconstruction of 31 roads of various HUDA Sectors transferred to the MCG.
The work on all these roads would be completed by coming June 30, that is, before the onset of monsoons.
“We will not make false promises and tell the people truth about the works which we are going to start or which we have started. Neither shall we leave any work midway like the previous Hooda Government did and ensure that work is taken up at all sites wherever a foundation is laid,” the Minister said.
later, Rao Narbir Singh also went round the park of Sector 7 where he started the work of installation of swings and other playful activities. He heard the grievances of the residents and directed the MCG authorities to redress them.
