The Congress on Saturday attacked the BJP over the alleged leak of Dhingra commission report in the Robert Vadra case and termed it a political vendetta of the worst order.
Senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said he cannot believe that the BJP can go so low and at the same time pointed that the Congress too had proof against BJP leaders and their kins but never used it to harass them.
Azad was referring to the leaked report of Dhingra Commission which was set up by Haryana Government to probe the irregularities in granting the land licenses to a firm owned by Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
“We had proof of a number of leaders, had proof of their kins too but we never harassed them. We knew which businessman is the supporter and funder of BJP, but Congress never raided those parties. This is the political vendetta of the worst order, cannot believe they can go so low,” Azad said at AICC briefing
“The Congress party ruled for decades. And we knew the business houses that were funding the BJP. But a Congress Government right from the time of (Prime Minister) Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, never harassed or raised those who were funding the BJP,” he added.
Reacting to the findings of the report, Vadra’s wife and Sonia’s daughter Priyanka in a statement said that her finances had nothing to do with her husband and his company Skylight hospitality.
The statement mentioned about Priyanka Gandhi having bought five acres of agricultural land in village Amipur in Faridabad district for Rs 15 lakh on April 28, 2006, six years prior to the purported land deal involving Skylight Hospitality. The Commission had submitted its 182-page report to Khattar on August 31, 2016.
