Astroturf | Attend to mental maladies holistically

A human being is an enigma by oneself, as every being is born potentially perfect, in so far as the instrumentality of a being (body-mind organism) is concerned. If we could access, and put to use our wholesome indwelling potential, would know no limits. This, provided we become aware of our true-self.

The paradox, however, is that our “Performing-Self” falls short of its expectation, as it remains clouded with a lot of constitutional and self-acquired limitations. Also, we invariably remain ignorant of how to rightfully use the instruments of our mind. That restricts access to our wholesome self. Ignorant thus, we are seldom able to fully exploit our in-house resources. So, more often than not, we end up becoming a victim of our own fault lines. Ostensibly therefore, if we encounter failure, frustration and pains in life, it is not because we are helplessly so fated. Fact remains that we fail to put in our best, as we do not strive sufficiently to unfold immense power within.

In the above light, what should be “Human Calling”, which may enable one to sail through life with relative ease and comfortIJ To find right answer, it becomes desirable to first know oneself, which calls for getting into self-search mode.

Our mind immediately comes into focus, no sooner the urge to get into self-search mode arises, and which calls for looking within. The beauty of this unique empowerment tool, ‘the mind’, is that it can see its own image in the mirror, it sets for itself. We, thus, would be able to get to know what lies in the deeper realms of the mind, which drives a being in real terms.

When we look within, first comes to our notice the clutters in mind that keep us unnecessarily engaged in wild thoughts, that otherwise do not allow us remaining focused to what is desirable. Also, we become short of the mind-space necessary to process our thoughts objectively. Having cleared them, we come across such memory imprints as would put us in a bind of undesirable habit tendencies that marginalise our productive abilities. Once we reflect upon and address them through fresh educative inputs, our acquired virtues come into full play. Even if we could achieve this level, it will enable us to successfully sail through life with ease and comfort.

The irony, however, is that our egotistical mind, ordinarily identifying itself with one’s predisposition of mind, is invariably not keen to look beyond. Therefore, it doesn’t let us explore and reach out the treasure trove beyond, lying dormant thus far. Ego doesn’t let us acknowledge our fault lines either. We, thus, get caught up in our self-created bind, and the inevitable follows. Here comes astrology to our aid, which knows no bias. For, it is premised on the reading of energy-map of the heaven at the time of one’s birth, which throws light on one’s inherent mind-traits, and with a fair amount of precision.

Here is the case of a young man who is suffering from chronic anxiety syndrome for almost a decade now, which has made a dent even on the physiology of his body. Every morning he gets up worrying about the possible ordeal he may have to face during the day. He starts puking, and out of fear, avoids food. Over a period of time he has lost his appetite, and is getting weaker day-by-day. The psychotropic drugs have so far not been able to help him much. let us look at his astrological pointers.

The main trickster in this case is his mind-signifying Moon occupying the lagna itself. It locks horns with intelligence indicator Mercury, wisdom oriented Jupiter, intellectually ordained Uranus, emotion signifying Venus, inhibitive Saturn, and mischievous Neptune. This, in the first place holds the key to his worrisome tendencies, flawed reasoning, and mental inconsistencies. Second, emotionally he is too much sensitive, whereby he keeps unnecessarily mulling over even trivial issues. Third, with his inhibitive nature, he doesn’t share his problems, and therefore, carries baggage full of suppressed feelings. In the process, his thought process has become incoherent.  Comfort loving that he is, as the Sun is beautifully aligned to Moon, he is averse to taking pains to address his shortcomings. The result is there to see.

Otherwise, he is armed with immense potential, which may come in force only when his limitations are addressed. A holistic treatment is needed to regain his normal self, which involves, for pursuing ‘Mind-Detoxification’ process as suggested in all seriousness, along with medication, and regular spiritual counselling for a while.
