Anticipating fresh flare up of tensions along the line of Control, Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat Saturday told 'foot soldiers' of the Indian Army to remain 'ever ready' and vigilant to  respond to any misadventures by the inimical forces.

Army Chief who visited forward areas of frontier Rajouri district  also reiterated the continued need to remain prepared in order to counter the nefarious designs of the enemy.

On the occasion he was briefed by GoC of Ace of Spades division about the operational preparedness of the soldiers.

Army Chief's visit to the forward areas is expected to boost morale of the soldiers deployed along the line of Control and actively involved in  robust counter infiltration grid.

Four armymen including a Major and three jawans were martyred in a brutal strike by Border Action Team of Pakistan Army in Keri sector of Rajouri on December 23.

According to Defence spokesman, "the Army Chief was briefed by lt Gen Saranjeet Singh, GOC, White Knight Corps about the preparedness of White Knight Corps in dealing with the emerging and dynamically changing security situation and the measures taken to thwart any misadventure by the inimical forces".
