BARTENDER APPEAlS FINE FOR PUBlIC BElCHING, AND WINS

He who burps loudest laughs best — at least in this case. Nearly a year after a policeman ticketed Edin Mehic for loudly belching next to him, the Vienna bartender has won his appeal. Mehic was fined 70 euros ($75) for a sonorous post-kebab burp next to the officer at an amusement park. The ticket said he violated “public decency with a loud belch next to a police officer.”

But a court document Mehic emailed to The Associated Press on Friday shows authorities have ruled in his favour. It says there was “never proof” that he burped to affront the officer. Mehic’s belch resonated in Austria long after it was emitted. Groups organised to support him, and a kebab chain paid for both his ticket and an all-expenses trip to Istanbul.

ICE CREAM MUSEUM FEATURES POOl FIllED WITH SPRINKlES

los Angeles residents and visitors seeking to take in some sweet-toothed culture have a new destination: The Museum of Ice Cream. The Museum of Ice Cream, which opened temporarily last summer in New York City, expanded to four times its size and moved across the country for this year’s exhibition in los Angeles’ Arts District.

The museum features 10 exhibits and each room features the smells and tastes associated with ice cream and adjacent desserts. “It’s not a museum in any traditional sense,” Bunn told KABC-TV. “I want adults to feel like kids. I want kids to come in and feel like children and it’s just fun.”

The museum features a room filled with bananas and a pool filled with sprinkles. The $29 price of admission — $18 for children and seniors — includes two curated ice cream tastings as well as other sugary edibles.

POlICE PICK UP ADORABlE INTRUDERS: PYGMY GOATS

Police in Maine have picked up some adorable intruders after two miniature goats escaped from their home and wandered the streets. A Belfast police officer responded Sunday morning to find the pygmy goats in a woman’s garage. They had been snacking on cat food. Officer Daniel Fitzpatrick used a cat leash to lead them into his squad car. The trio drove around looking for the goats’ owner as Fitzpatrick fed them carrots and celery. Belfast is a seaport town about 73 km east of Augusta. The daughter of the goats’ owner saw Fitzpatrick’s Facebook post and picked up the pair, named louis and Mowgli — but not before Fitzpatrick snapped a selfie with the duo. Fitzpatrick called the runaways “good company” and joked about adding patrol goats to the next police budget.

GOOGlE ERROR lEADS PIZZERIA CUSTOMERS TO MAN’S HOME

An Australian man said unwanted visitors have been streaming to his home after Google Maps mistakenly labelled it as a pizzeria. Michael McElwee, 69, said it seemed like a simple mistake had been made when someone showed up at his Darwin home to deliver magazines meant for a pizza restaurant, but soon another person showed up seeking a job at a pizzeria.

McElwee said would-be pizza customers started knocking at his door and that led to the discovery that Google Maps had incorrectly labelled his house as Cucina Sotto le Stelle, a pop-up pizzeria located in a park near his home. “It is like getting your identity stolen,” McElwee told Australian Broadcasting Corp Radio Darwin. “Your house has been stolen and put in as a pizza shop.”

“My daughter has been approached by people wanting to know what time we open,” he said. “I don’t know how many people have turned up at my house thinking it was a pizza place.” The error was reported to Google, which has since corrected the map to put Cucina Sotto le Stelle in the correct location.
