Youths cheated using forged letter of Jayant Sinha

Sunday, 30 April 2017 | RR Srivastava | Hazaribagh

Some BJP workers of Barkagaon cheated on dozen unemployed youths using a forged recommendation letter of MP cum MoS Jayant Sinha. They assured the unemployed youths that Jayant had sent the recommendation letter to the AGM of NTPC to take them in the organisation. They took handsome amount from the youths for it.

The aggrieved persons were regularly visiting NTPC office and party office of Barkagaon since 4-5 months in the hope of getting job. The fraud came into light when they came to know that MoS cum MP Jayant Sinha has not ever written any such letter to the AGM NTPC. On Friday 28th April they lodged an FIR in Barkagaon police station against the cheaters.

One of the victims Dilip Thakur said that he had met two persons few months ago who introduced themselves as BJP party workers and claimed to have connections at higher levels and can provide them job. He paid them the asked amount and then they showed the letter with the forged signature of Jayant addressed to NTPC AGM BB Mahapatra. After few days, they visited NTPC office to enquire about the status of the letter and they were informed by the clerk that a blank letter has been received by the office with Minister’s signature on it.

When they told about the incident the fraud BJP workers then after some days they got a phone call in which the person on others side gave his identity as NTPC AGM BB Mahapatra. This phone call reassured the victims regarding the authenticity of the work promised. But even after so many days when they didn’t received the appointment letter the aggrieved persons met Mahapatra personally and then became aware of the whole fraud.

Senior party leader cum district secretary Anil Mishra informed about this incident to his leader Yashwant Sinha and Jayant Sinha. Both took it seriously and Jayant immediately directed the police officials to enquire the entire matter seriously and to catch them imposters as soon as possible.

On the other hand talking to The Pioneer the AGM of HR BB Mahapatra said that NTPC always believes in fair dealing. Our organisation has no concern with all these fraud activity. We will give all possible help to the cheated youths for getting justice, he added.
