In a reaction to the BJD’s charges on his poll spending, Sundargarh BJP MP and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram on Sunday said he would step down if the allegations are found true. The BJD had on Saturday claimed that Oram had submitted a false affidavit to the Election Commission concerning to his poll expenditure after 2014 elections.
“I am prepared to face any probe. The allegations levelled by the BJD are politically motivated. If the allegations are found true, I would step down from my Minister post,” Oram said at Press conference in New Delhi.
He said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should first resign as irregularities have been traced during preliminary investigations pertaining to his (Patnaik’s) poll expenses. BJD MPs Pinaki Misra and Pratap Keshari Deb had showed some documents in support of their allegation.
